Registered Veterinary Technologist
Shannon graduated from the Olds College with an Animal Health Technologist degree in 1998. She volunteered at a vet clinic in high school, and from that point forward, she knew she wanted to work in the Animal Health Field. She joined the McKenzie Towne Animal Clinic in January 2010 and has made a great addition to the team.
Her special interests in the veterinary industry are nutrition, especially weight loss in pets, and dentistry. Shannon would be more than happy to answer any questions concerning what food you should feed your pet or how we can get your furry loved one looking super slim and trim. Shannon has also volunteered with PALS and ARF spay and neuter clinics.
Honey is Shannon’s Border Collie, lovingly termed the “throw rug”. She spends time at the clinic hiding in the back kennel room and keeping Dr. VanderPol’s feet warm. She was adopted from the Olds College AHT Adopt-a-Pet program in May 2009.
Shannon also has 2 boys and a wonderful husband that keep her busy outside of work. She loves spending time with her family, camping, scuba diving, and yoga (well….maybe the boys don’t join for yoga!) Shannon is a diehard Vancouver Canucks fan – she has lots of other terrific attributes – so we try not to hold this against her!
